About Maria Mochnacz

Maria Mochnacz says of her background, "I am a photographer/video maker. Trained in fine art and photography. I have been working with musicians and bands since 1991 but also do fashion and fine artwork. My most well-known work is with PJ Harvey – as well as producing her photographs and videos I’ve been closely involved in her styling over the course of her career." "My photography has been described as ‘lo-fi but with a hard fine art edge.’ I use 35mm cameras and funny plastic cameras that are a bit hit and miss. I don’t use digital and it is not an instant process. I love to make the process of photographing people playful and collaborative."
