This particular artwork namely "Shahrzad" inspired by one of the major female characters and the storyteller in the frame narrative of the Middle Eastern collection of tales known as the ONE THOUSAND AND ONE NIGHTS. In this painting, you can find 'Shahrzad' (name of the mentioned lady) wearing traditional clothes at the front and the calligraphy of the word "Shahrzad" in Persian in the background.

About Mohammad Saeed Naghashian

Mohammad Saeed Naghashian was born in Iran in 1977. He obtained his MA in Graphics and now works as an artist, university professor and researcher in graphic arts and typography.

He is a well-known Iranian calligraphist and designed his own font in calligraphy named “Neshat” as well as being an expert in Moalla, Nastaliq and Shekasteh-Nastaliq calligraphy.

Mohammad Saeed Naghashian has held many solo and group exhibitions since 2003 as well as auctions and workshops both in his native Iran and internationally. His recent exhibition history includes; 'With My Roots by Capital Art London', Asia House , London,UK, 2017 and 'Blue Homework' Tehran Art Center, Iran, 2018.
