About Colin Willey

Based in Dorchester in Dorset on the South coast of England, Colin Willey has become a highly sought-after and accomplished landscape artist, with work in numerous private and public collections throughout the UK and beyond, including a series of landscapes commissioned by the Palace of Westminster, London to hang in The House of Lords.

Born in 1972 he had his first breaks after winning prestigious awards at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters (ROI) and the the Mall Galleries, London. He has exhibited for the last ten years with Carina Haslam Art at all the major UK art fairs, where he has consistently been one of CHA’s and the AAF’s best-selling artists. Colin has also exhibited regularly at the Royal Society of Marine Artists (RSMA) and the New English Art Club (NEAC).

Colin’s work is principally about light and its effects – and how light continually changes to transform the landscape from moment to moment. Expressing his fascination for the ancient “Jurassic” coasts of Dorset and East Devon, he spontaneously captures its vast skies, billowing clouds and shimmering light. He has an instinctive feel for the unique dramatic quality of that part of the English coastline – now a designated World Heritage site.
